Day left immediately after the full-time whistle to meet wife Lizzie and their daughters Sophia and Emelia.Day told talkSPORT: On Monday afternoon she was induced and then on my way to the game I found out her water had gone.I went into the game knowing there was a chance Id miss the birth, which unfortunately I did.But I got to the hospital about an hour-and-a-half after both girls were born. They are perfect, healthy and the mum and babies are doing really well.Day missed Newports 1-1 draw at Championship club Middlesbrough on January 26 because his wife was expecting to give birth at that time. But he returned for their replay and was barely troubled with Boro registering just one shot on target.Second-half goals from Robbie Willmott and Padraig Amond saw the Exiles pull off another cup shock after they knocked out Leicester in the previous round.Padraig Amond celebrates scoring Newport’s second goal3

Day said: I spoke to Lizzie just before I got to the ground, and she made me focus. We had the conversation, she said look, youre doing this game for the family, youre doing it for these girls dont worry about me, Ill be fine.At the game, there was nothing I could do for her, I just had to do what I had to do to help Newport get the win, which we did.I wasnt overworked but I thought the lads were absolutely superb, a 2-0 win for the two girls, it couldnt have been more perfect.Day reserved special praise for Newport manager Michael Flynn.Michael Flynn is a hero to Newport fans3

He added: Hes kindly given me the day off, hes been great with me the whole time. With it being twins, its been a bit complicated but hes been fantastic.Hes not put any pressure on me, thats part of his attributes in man-management and I cant thank him enough. Now, Newport will entertain a City side who have scored a combined total of 12 goals against Burnley and Rotherham in previous rounds. Day will be tasked with keeping out the likes of Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva. He said: To see those names at Rodney Parade will be crazy Ill get my head around that in the next few days.Im sure well do whatever we can to give ourselves the best chance.
