Schar played the remainder of the match despite admitting he was knocked out for a few seconds and could not remember the incident. Switzerland and Georgia players checked to make sure the 27-year-old had not swallowed his tongue as he lay motionless on the ground.Newcastle legend Shearer has called for independent doctors to make decisions on player head injuries in the future.He told The Sun: There is no way in the world that Fabian Schar should have been allowed to play on.
