1. He broke his jaw in Celtics Scottish Cup final win over Aberdeen in 2017

4. He has been tipped to play for one of the Premier Leagues top clubs

In 2017, Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam backed Tierney to thrive in England. He said: Tierney is Scotlands best player now he is different to anything else we have got. He is the next one who could go to a Premier League club and play regularly.He could play for a Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United without a doubt.

5. He can score screamers

Playing for Celtics Under-21 side, Tierney scored from the edge of his own penalty box in a 3-1 win over Hearts in 2014. The video, posted on Celtics official YouTube channel, received over 150,000 views.

6. He was not born in Scotland

Despite pledging his international allegiance to Scotland, Tierney was not born north of the border. He was born in the Isle of Man and moved to Wishaw in north Lanarkshire, Scotland when he was an infant.

7. He was just 18 years old when he received his first Scotland call-up

8. He started out as a winger

Celtic academy coach Martin Miller insisted Tierney would never be a left-back. He said: He was playing seven-a-side football at the time and he was very much an out and out winger, he was never a defender at all.

9. He is versatile in defence

Tierney has played as a left-sided centre-half in a back-five for Celtic and Scotland in the past. He impressed in that role in Scotlands 2-2 draw with England in a World Cup qualifier in 2017.

10. He was a ball boy in Celtics memorable Champions League night
